16 or 9 socket rig
I'm looking for a source for a 16 (4 rows of 4) or 9 (3 rows of 3) socket lamp holder that I can use for a cfl softbox light head.
There was a place that was selling these, but I don't remember who it was. I could make one, but... |

Fotodiox.com
Here's one from Fotodiox that has had decent reviews. I think these are great options especially for the control if you don't want to build them yourself. I'm just not a huge fan of carting this many bulbs around. Can't beat $150 for the fixture and softbox though. |

Larry,
Fotodiox has both the C900 and C1600 on ebay for a little less than the price at their website and with free shipping. |

fotodiox
Thanks for the info. I bought both, the build quality was a bit low, but I solved the problems. I use a photoflex silverdome with the c-900 and some 90 cri daylight bulbs, it works will existing office lighting for a decent fill light or I can turn off the overheads and not get blue from the windows in either case.
The 1200 is brighter of course, but bigger so more difficult to find a softbox that will fit, unless I want to use the fotodiox brand, which I don't. |
