Gamma Curve for Film Transfer-Day/Night

Is anyone familiar with film transfer to/from digital imaging and associated gamma curves? I'm curious whether a different gamma curve is used for nightime acquired footage transfers as opposed to daytime acquired footage transfers. The super16 film I just received back from the transfer house, some of which was shot at night, looks pretty bad. I think the transfer house used a daytime gamma on the transfer.
