First Music Video Inside Nightclub-lighting Suggestion
HELLO,
I will be shooting my first hip-hop video in your basic regular nightclub setting. I will be working with two canon xl'1s. its your typical dark strobe lit nightclub-I plan to have the artist perform on stage and different areas around the dance floor--I dont want to turn up the house lights because it will take away from the point of using a nightclub--my question is what lighting setup do you think I would need-in terms of wattage, model etc.--I have displayed a picture for you to see the lighting situation. Thanks for your help. http://nonstopnights.com/photo.php?g...e=Sessa&pid=87 |

I suggest taking a look at spot-light mode since most of the
light is coming from above and creating small pools of light. You will require additional lighting indeed if you want to stay away from low shutter modes and grain. Perhaps the club can just use a lot more lights then they usually do [I've worked at a club and they usually only use about 10% of their lights -> and then switch to another 10% etc.].

yep
I picked up a pair of lowell tota-lights yesterday--750 bulbs--my friend has the same kit also--We were thinking of going with that softbank cover for certrain scenes but, I plan to isolate a lot of the shots and properly light them--thanks for the suggestions i will def take them into concideration.
