Lowel Rifa eX 88 - reviews?
Is anyone aware of any reviews for the Rifa eX 88 (or smaller) - particularly interested in the performance of the screw in flourescent bulbs etc.
I have been using a Chimera softbox (video medium) for many years with a Lowel Tota 800W. It's generally been great but of course takes a little while to setup/strike. I've heard good things about the Rifa and am interested enough to explore further. The other issue with the Chimera and Tota is lack of power when gelled with full or 1/2 CTB. Mostly lighting single or even double person interviews with the Chimera (although of course, I struggle with two people on this kit with CTB). Would the flourescent do it for me or should I be looking at bigger (2K) beasts! Thanks, Paul. |

From what I have seen, the fluorescents are underpowered. My tungsten Rifa is great though! Very handy, compact and quick to set up!
