Refurbish vs. Replace
Hey Everyone,
My high school television station has a grid full of Kliegl Bros. Fresnels and scoops and we are experiencing a lot of hardware issues with them. These lights are at least twenty five years old. Should we send them out to be refurbished or just replace them? Would it be worth it? Thanks |

they are dumpster bait, period. if they have the white shaggy insulation on the wires, its asbestos ! bad news. otherwise they are just not efficient lights, so don't waste your time or money on making them work again. if you want to replace the scoops for fill, get some flo lights which will consume far less power, and make far less heat which requires AC to remove. much better for the budget and environment.
