Microphone Holder
I'm about to place an order for an HPX500 and was thinking of an alternative to the Panasonic AJ-MC700 microphone such as a Rode NTG-1. What I can't figure out is if the microphone holder only comes with the AJ-MC700, or if it comes with the HPX500 body?
Thanks

It would only seem logical that the clamp would come with the camera. It would be pointless to package it with the microphone if you aren't using a Panasonic camera, or if you already have a clamp on the camera. When I ordered my DVC30 I also ordered the XLR box, and the clamp came with that. I'm using an NTG-1 as well, and it fits in the clamp no problem.

I agree that the clamp should come with the camera, except that the AJ-MC700 specifically mentions microphone & HOLDER??

The Panasonic 700 mic kit comes with the holder. I just sold one (holder only) on eBay for 25 bucks. The holders pop up from time to time. I also use a CAC-12 Sony holder on my SDX900 which extends the mic out from the VF.
