p2store, P2 missing data on FCP import

Greetings all. I'm really hoping that someone will be able to assist and or advise on my current situation. I've been using the P2store for over a year... rock solid until recently. Now I get clips that won't import in FCP after I've copied them to a backup drive.. Or directly from the P2store. The files seem to be fine though as they are on the drives.. and I can view them in the p2import viewer. They play without issue. However, when I try to import the files... the progress bar doesn't really move, it locks up and then gives me a missing data message at the end. I'm frustrated with the lac of support for Mac people by both Apple and Panny. I"m open to trying out some 3rd party software and would be so relieved if it works.. and if it helps to organize and improve my p2 workflow. Does anyone have any advice and suggestions on what could be the problem. I am on the latest FCP, quicktime and 0S. It's also confusing that it only happens to a select number of clips.. but they are vital clips. I'll try whatever I need to do to get them recovered, restored, converted or repair. I'm open, baby!

I know some of you have experienced this before. However you were able to solve it.. let me know and would be greatly appreciated. You can respond here or email me directly at justyn.rowe@gmail.com

Thanks one and all for your advice.. Justyn

Mike and everyone....

Thanks for your help. The greatest help was the person who said that older versions were the trick... and that did it. I loaded 5.1 and no problems. NONE what so ever. Final cut 5.1.4 is riddled with p2 bugs from what I can see... So everyone beware. It got so bad that EVERY single clip came in as corrupted. WHen is Apple going to get their game right? For once PC people have a MAJOR advantage.... and I feel ripped off and jipped. NO support from them... limited from Panny. Man that sucks

But rejoicing in the streets... I got all of my files back. Praise God...!
