Converting MXF's from firestore to quicktime
During a shoot with the HVX+Firestore, P2 was selected instead of Quicktime PN in the firestore's menu. FCP doesn't recognize the firestore like P2 cards, so I couldn't convert them using "Import/Panasonic P2". I saved all of the contents of the FS to another drive so we could continue shooting, but now I have about 20 clips that need to be made into Quicktime. What is the best/most cost effective way of doing this? I'm working with the latest version of FCP 5.
I posted this on the Firestore forum, but I didn't get a reply, so here it is. Any help is appreciated. |

You have to execute the "Organize P2" function in the FireStore. After you do that, FCP should be able to import those clips.

Thank-you very much for your reply, Barry. Do you know if there is a way to do this "organize p2" function without the firestore? The FS was rented so we don't have it anymore, but as I said I copied all of its contents.
Thanks again. |
