HPX2000 - pN firmware? Official word Jan?
Chomping at the bit to get one (or two) as they slowly leak out...
I heard somewhere that there was going to be a progressive native update (firmware or issued that way) for this camera, allowing you to save time in 720 24/30p formats on the P2 cards and the new v.3 firestores, similar to HVX200 options. It was the only thing I saw 'wrong' with the camera, and was glad to hear that they might be including it afterall. Any comments, confirmation? Also looking forward to word on the Intra board and hopeful compatability with my Edius SP system. That could really finish things off nicely for me. |

PN mode will be available in August or so as a firmware upgrade.
Best, Jan

That's great news indeed...
Can you comment at all as to what that process would be in August? Can it be an easy user-capable firware update (say with the SD card and some good instructions), or will it require a trip to a Panny tech? Really looking forward to the cam, and this capability really sweetens it... Rumors of an HPX3000 floating around recently (1920x1080 native) - care to comment, arrival date, etc? I figured it was far off and possibly the P2 Varicam(?). Thanks again Jan. |
