MBPro and P2Store: Volumes failing to mount
Hi everyone,
I've noticed that when connecting my P2Store to my MacBookPro, sometimes volumes will fail to mount. Frequently I will connect the P2Store, a number of volumes will mount, let's say 5, but I know that I put 6 or 7 cards onto the P2Store. I'll restart my computer, and usually (but not always) all the volumes will mount. This is a very disconcerting issue if you haven't been keeping track of how many cards you've stored and then reformat the P2Store after you think you've transferred all of it's contents. I also have a PC and have not noticed this problem on it. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what the solutions might be. I often find myself mounting and re-mounting the P2Store just to make sure all the volumes have mounted. Thanks as always, Peter PS One other P2Store gripe (though I really like it for the most part): I've still found that the storage indicator that is supposed to tell you how full the P2Store is doesn't work. In my experiences it either tells you the P2Store is completely empty, or is nearly full (four lights or one light) but never anything in between. It would be great if Panasonic replaced this light system with an LCD readout that gave more information about storage capacity, number of volumes copied to the drive, and gave error codes in text, instead of just lighting up different combinations of lights, forcing the user to pull out the manual to see what the error is. Please, Panny, put something like this on the next-gen P2Store. |
