HVX used (briefly) in Scorsese's "The Departed"
There's an article on Digital Content Producer about the making of "The Departed" (http://digitalcontentproducer.com/fi...angster_style/) and it talks about how the visual effects supervisor (Academy award winner Robert Legato) used his own HVX200 in the workflow.
In another interview with Mr. Legato, he said that there's actually a last-minute shot they had to get of a stand-in holding up a picture (in place of DiCaprio's character). There was no time, so they just used the HVX to film it, and it made it into the final cut. Regarding image quality, "They told me the camera just takes incredible pictures over all of the other lower end cameras. They said it excels in close up and medium type shots. Not so good in long shots, but just works very well over all. " |

Greetings Barry,
Do you have a link to the subsequent article where he mentions image quality? Thanks, Tim |

The follow-up comment wasn't from an article, it was a report from an interview that someone on DVXUser posted.
