P2 GENIE average speed. Fast as P2 Slot?
I am testing the P2 Genie and am wondering how long it should take to download an 8GB card. I am on a dual G5 downloading off the camera. It seems to me that it is taking a very long time.
Has anyone tested the speed of various downloads? I'm about to but was just wondering if anyone had already done it. Is downloading off the camera any slower or faster than downloading straight out of a P2 slot in a Titanium laptop? Addendum: What I meant to ask was is it faster to use P2 GEANIE or to just manually drag files to a folder on the desktop/drive. Thanks in advance. |

P2Genie should be on par or faster than dragging.
If you are using the HVX as the card reader with a firewire cable, transfer speed is greatly reduced because of slow drivers and Firewire I/O in the HVX. Using the Cardbus slot in a PowerBook is very fast compared to the HVX. It should be on par wih the P2store with verify turned off |
