FYI: Azden SGM-1000
Hooked this up last week, and just wanted to post this FYI:
The barrel of the mike is too small to fit snugly in the screw-in mic holder that ships w/the HVX-200. I tried, and while the inside of the screw-in holder has strips of black foam that I would expect to do a decent-to-good insulation job, the barrel of the mic itself has too small a circumfirence, and it just pointed down toward the floor. I ended up using the shoe-mount directly behind the built-in mics. Now, what to do if I ever need to use that shoe for something else? Denis |

heh - I had a similar problem with a semi shotgun on my PD 150 years ago.
I wrapped masking tape around the circumference of the mic until it sat well in the holder - worked really well. Looked err, "industrial" - but really, who cares ? Still got the 150 to shoot the kids with but I'm thinking of ditching it in favour of something smaller, like a magnum. |
