What recording mode should I shoot in?
Ok, I'm heading out of town for an extended travel doc gig for 3 weeks and haven't had time to get really familliar with the HVX200 yet. I'm going to be shooting in a combination of SD and HD. The SD stuff I'll just shoot on tape, the HD stuff I need your suggestions as to what mode to shoot with.
This will only go to TV or DVD so I don't need max resolution. There will be some wildlife footage shot, and I will be using variable frame rates for some of it. I only have 2 4GB P2 cards, and will only be able to dump them to a hard drive at the end of the day (I know, it sucks, but I have to live with it) so shooting in 24pn or 30pn makes sense to give me the most recording time possible. I still don't know all the differences between the regular 30p and natural 30pn modes, except you get double the recoding time in 30pn. What are the drawbacks? Also trying to decide whether to shoot in 24 or 30 (p or pn). Thoughts or suggestions please?
