4:3 in HD
I was looking at specs and the brochure that came out at DV Expo and noticed this fine print:
"Both 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios are supported in SD, 16:9 only in HD." I know of course that HD is 16:9 native. I'm wondering, in the event that one would have to record HD and protect for 4:3, how the HVX handles this. Are there 4:3 guides or would I have to just "guesstimate" the framing? It's not a deal-breaker or anything-- just curious.

Hi Matt, yes there are 4:3 guides for framing! In fact there are guides and overlays for just about everything.

Yep, I did a keyword search as well. Didn't see anything about frame guides. Maybe I missed something...

There are frame guidelines for 90% safe zone and for 4:3 framing. No 1.85 or 2.35 markings...
