HVX resolution footage
this is Canon XL H1, JVC GY-HD100U, Panasonic AG-HVX200, and the Sony HVR-Z1U resolution test footage. they also tested varicam and f900.
they say JVC comes close to the Varicam in raw detail.. https://i.cmpnet.com/dv/magazine/010...%20Cameras.zip https://i.cmpnet.com/dv/video/4cam-1080cams.mov.zip https://i.cmpnet.com/dv/video/4cam-720cams.mov.zip https://i.cmpnet.com/dv/magazine/010...ic%20Shots.zip here;s the full article http://www.dv.com/features/features_...leId=177103305 |

I would not take these test to mean much. After all is said and done with formats, camera processing, each cameras plus and minuses in design, lenses, etc., all of these prosumer HD cameras will make the same relative quality picture and only subjective taste will really make the difference. Resolution lines are only one part (and not the most important part) of what makes something look appealing to you. Already other chart tests are showing very different pictures. CHarts are fun but even the supposedly worst looking camera in these tests has made indistinguishably great footage used in the real world.
