Video Clip Of Hvx200 Blowup To 35mm Film At Laser Pacific.
What I have here is a small sample clip of what I filmed
off the screen at Laser Pacific when I was covering the screening. The noise you see is from my Canon SD550 that shoots 640x480 at 30fps video and not the HVX. However these clips demonstrates how well the HVX200 holds up to a 35mm blowup for big screen presentation. It looks really good in my opinion Scroll down the page to news story (...NEWS 206 ) and the link to clip is there below the photo of the filmmakers at the event LINK: http://www.pbase.com/Arrfilms Michael Pappas Arrfilms@hotmail.com PappasArts & Arrfilms Main site CONTACT VIA AOL INSTANT MESSENGER AT { PAPPASARTS2 } XLH1 and HVX200 frame grabs and news here: http://www.pbase.com/Arrfilms http://www.PappasArts.com http://www.Myspace.com/PappasArts |

It looks very good, do you know what size/framerate the material was shot at?
How clean was the picture? It's hard to judge with all the noise from your camera! |

Mike,
Thanks for those clips. Very encouraging. As a director, I've been interested in seeing what this thing looks like at the end of the stream; the res on the Canon is fine but the look of the old Panny DVX has got me hooked on the HV. The clip reminds me of that old ecktochrome stock from film school on daylight spools (especially the warm tones of the the last two clips in the first reel). Very nice indeed, especially for the maiden transfer. |
