HD Monitoring
Does the HVX allow for pass-thru DVCPROHD monitoring via FW, like we can do with DV cameras and VTRs? Can I hook up the HVX to an NLE via FW, then from the camera to a monitor via analog component?
Thanks, Joe Womble |

Joe,
that is a question we are all waiting to get answered. Perhaps someone who actually has the HVX200 and FCP can enlighten us. Apparently the workflow is legitimate as FCP does this with the Panasonic DVCPRO-HD deck.....in theory it should work with the HVX but nobody has proven it yet. Barry has a pre-release of the HVX but I don't think he has a MAC and FCP to test this. He has stated that the firewire input displayed on the HVX LCD when he had to HVX200s connected via firewire but the component outs weren't hooked to anything at that time to verify this functionality. Hope we here something soon. |

Yes, the folks who have the new camera are the ones to whom I am posing this question.
Kaku? Jarred? Others? Regards, Joe Womble |

Actually, the manual seems to say no... p. 87:
"1394 input images cannot be output from the COMPONENT OUT terminal"... Someone with a camera, feel free to prove this wrong! Please! |
