Kaku's Night clips from the HVX200 look damn good!

Kaku's Night clips from HVX200 look damn good! I look forward to seeing more. I was just on ichat with my friend Barlow and he too agrees the clips look very good from the HVX200. Though Kaku said it was 1080/24 it appears that it is 60i, I may be wrong but it looks to be that. Either way, looking damn good.......

Barry Green; Filming at -5 sharpness really gives it that silky look as you had suggested Kaku film in. Looks beautiful....... Colors are vibrant too!

This is making it a hard to decide, I like both the Canon XLh1 and the HVX200. But DVCpro HD and P2 are to good to over look. Ahhhhhhhh! Decisions decisions decisions.........

They are good. I especially liked the night-time taxi ride view through the front window showing all the neon signage.

Oh, which one I made mistake on? The kid clip?
First I made mistake on the water dripping one because I was looking at the interlaced frame on 24p (haha).

Glad you like them. I would have not able to shoot those clip good withour your assistance tho, Michael.

Thanks.

By the way, these clips are being uploaded to FTP here now, so hope Chris will take care of them for the faster download time. For the description, please refer to my download section at xtream.ne.jp

Hi Kaku. Barlow pointed it out to me that the Taxi was not 24p but 60i. The kid clip is 24p for sure. Kaku, if you have anymore night clips, I would love to see more. Thanks Kaku!............

Night Clips

here's a direct link to the area on Kaku's site where the night clips are posted:
http://www.xtream.ne.jp/component/op.../limitstart,0/

You will have to create a log-in name and password before you can get to this area (or at least I did).

Hope this helps.

And they're also located on our server here at DV Info Net.

See http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=57245 for the download links.

Thanks as always, Kaku!

Not Barry here,lol
- but what about mxfTk.

dunno - can't test myself - for Windows.

heh - sorry Kaku.
Maybe it is exactly this type of situation Barry is talking about when comparing native mxf editing versus Qt on the Mac. Hell, I've been dld'g your clips furiously - and gotta admit I've never used fcp's browser so much and so often. Checking what the clips are - what the reported frame rates are etc; - maybe a whole new work flow evolving right here, simply because we now can have multiple formats on the one tape (smack in head) I meant to say card, sorry ... but seriously, it can get confusing. For you too, I bet and you're doing the shooting and edit.

edit - oh ok, read a bit more - also for Linux.

I don't think the individual camera settings are stored in the metadata. The big ones, like frame rate and aspect ratio and shooting mode (HD/DV50 etc) are stored in the metadata, but I don't think the individual scene file settings are.
