HVX Mount Holes
For Kaku - or anyone else who actually has the camera:
Do you know if the screw-mount holes on the underside of the body are in the same place as the DVX100A? I'm asking because I have a rail-mounted matte box that is "supposed" to fit the 100A and am hoping I can use it on the HVX. I've pre-ordered my HVX but so far no ship date from the retailer. |

I don't know about DVX (only used once) but it is located between the white balance and display/mode button.

What size is the screw mount (1/4, 3/8-inch)?

All non-professional cameras (ones that you can mount on a typical trpod) have a 1/4"x20 hole, and then a smaller hole, somewhere around 3/16" for the locating pin. This is standard. Broadcast, ENG, and sometimes larger film cameras have a 3/8"x16 hole instead of the 1/4", and have a 1/4"x20 hole instead of the locating pin.
Thus the screw sizes are the same on the DVX and the HVX. The position is the only thing that could differ. |
