Yes, I don't think that message is correct also.
Others it would be on the official site of Panasonic too. |

Short sighted from Panasonic if they don't offer 24p in PAL. Even Canon is doing it.

Better a $500 option than nothing.
Well let me say, the italian site declares "50p" Pal version, with 24p and 25p. So it declares as an extra to shot in 24p, it could be true because Varicam shot in 24p, so Panasonic wanted that Hvx200 could match footage of Varicam that in Italy is selled with 24p. It will be a tremendous big trouble for Panasonic customers that have Varicam become crazy to match two cameras of the same company! What do you think Jan. I believe that Panasonic wanted offer Hvx also as a camera that match with Varicam. In Italy I know they're people that have bought this camera so are your customers! They shot in 24p with Varicam! So how we can coming out from this trouble? To be or not to be, this is the problem! :) Jan, don't believe to Tosh , the Mulholland Dr.'s decopyrighted director guy, his words at Defperception about the "design of the pal hvx200" are not true, I know it's a shock for you, but he doesn't exist! Send him to THE COWBOY :) Cheers! Last edited by Danilo Del Tufo; December 1st, 2005 at 05:21 AM. |

It would be nice if Panasonic could offer such an opgrade like the Canon does too, optional, as with the Canon.
It can only win potential buyers. |

There's a thread around here somewhere in which Jan explains why they didn't offer this.

It's reasonable to expect the 720P mode of the camera will offer 24P to PAL customers. I'm not sure that the 1080P mode will though, unless they make the machine NTSC/PAL switchable.
Interesting problem though: If you could shoot 1280x1080P24 or 1440x1080P25... which would you choose? -Steve |
