"Countdown to HVX200" DVD
Egad! Just got the promo DVD from Panasonic about the HVX200. Sure, they talk alot about the camera and show a lot of P2 stuff, but Panasonic didn't spend the money to use a compressionist or someone who understands title-safe placement. What a horribly bad marketing video!!! The DVD compression artifacts are garish... must of used DVD Studio Pro.
On the bright side, Panasonic compared the HVX200 to the DVX100A and Sony's FX1/Z1U; you can see footage side by side/split-screened. Maybe it's just me, but the DVX100A sure does hold up to the HVX200... maybe Reelstream's uncompressed upgrade might really be worth it afterall. |

Xander,
I too noticed that the dvx100/hdv comparison in the "Economics and Archiving" chapter looked alot like the overcranked / undercranked footage in the "Cameras Features" chapter. I thought Maybe it was Dvx100 footage, but it looked like it WAS dvcpro hd footage shoot in 720P. _Rand |
