IDX mount for HPX-371
Buying the 370 and the sales rep wants me to buy a 3 pin battery mount to IDX v-mount. I'd like to just swap out the Anton Bauer mount and not have an additional .5 pound adapter in between. Is it easy?
The Panasonic literature just says I need the V-mount if I want to use IDX, so I'm assuming it's a fairly straight-forward swap? Ed |

I have never done the swap on a 370 but typically it is just 3-4 screws and a couple of wires. Should not be too difficult.

Extremely easy, your dealer should be able to do it.

Yeah, best choice is to replace the plate on the camera, adaptors always introduce extra connections and thus extra weight and possibility to failure, I would get this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/364643-REG/Switronix_GP_S_GP_S_V_Mount_Plate_with.htmlfrom switronix (has an extra powertap outlet) and it's just four screws and two wires (if it's similar to replacing the AB mount on the HPX500, which I did).
Good luck |
