P2 Store hard drive replacement
I think my P2 Store hard drive is beginning to fail. Without any changes to my set-up, I have had multiple occasions where data transfer off the P2 Store has been interrupted by an I/O error. I have eventually been able to get all the data off the unit, but it looks suspicious. Has anyone tried to replace the hard drive in this unit themselves ? I'm not sure at this point if the unit is worth enough to me to send it in to Panasonic.

People have tried upgrading the drive to something bigger. Nobody, to my knowledge, ever succeeded at this, if they would have, the market would have heated up on used P2 Stores. Something about a BIOS setting or firmware or something meant that the drive could not be changed. Not sure if this applies to just replacing the 60GB with another identical 60GB? You'll probably have to take it to Panasonic, which I agree, I doubt it is worth doing seeing as it has become an outdated piece of gear. Unless you just have a bunch of small P2 cards, probably not a good investment.
