MXF format and editing?
Who is actually using the MXF file format in their workflow for using Premiere and After Effects... ? Curious to know what people prefer, if anything else at all. Thanks,,,

Don't quite understand your question. If you use HVX200 or HPX172 or any of the P2 cameras, you have to use MXF format video. So - if you are using Premiere, you should be using the MXF format any way. I don't use that editor - I use EDIUS from Canopus.

Sorry if my post is unclear - I wonder how many people shooting on the HVX200 are actually using the MXF file instead of capturing it, or editing it in another format for example when using Premiere for editing, or After Effects for post work.

There are very few programs, apart from the NLEs, that actually reads MXF file formats. Normally, if I were to use After Effects (for example), I will use the NLE (EDIUS in my case) to read the MXF format - and convert that to AVI format first.

What file format is everyone else using for post on HD footage coming off the HVX200? Thanks for any input.

For me, that will be Canopus AVI (Canopus HQ codec).
