P2 to Firewire drive issues at DVinfo.net

Hope someone has had this happen..Trying to offload P2 files onto a WD Firewire drive,,,have gone thru the all proper steps, but menu at the options for Drive formatting, copy to HDD etc..are all greyed out except for setup ..also on a couple of occasions the "too many targets" warning popped up. Tried reformatting disc in PC..which is recognized as empty with no partitions but still no luck ..what am i doing wrong? I dont see the drive as being recognized anywhere in the host mode tho..any help appreciated. its a rental and I'm on a deadline!!

Eliminate any formatting problems by having the *camera* format the drive. If you still can't access offloading options after that then there's either a problem with the HDD itself or something in the camera communication that's amiss.
