HPx500 and HPX170 Time code sycning...
Hi all,
I'm trying to sync the time codes on a 500 and 170 via firewire and I'm having no success. I'm following the steps outlined in the HPX/HVX book and I get the 170 into 1394TC In mode, but when I press the TC button nothing happens. What do I need to do to get TC out of the 500 via firewire? ~Mike |

Make sure your HPX170 is in MCR mode, but not viewing the thumbnails. To do this push the MCR button and then hit the thumbnail button to leave that display. You should then be able to see the feed from the other camera coming in via firewire. If you don't see the feed then make sure that the HPX500 is set to the same format and is not in 24PN mode (which will not stream out). As soon as the HPX170 sees the external stream coming in then the TC should be set the same as the HPX500. Now you can go back to cam mode and return both cameras to 24PN if needed.

Andy,
I didn't have them on the same format, one was on 480/60i and the other 480/30p, as soon as I fixed that, presto.... Thanks! ~Mike |
