HDV recording on tape
will AG-HVX200 record HDV on Mini-DV tape???? or only SD

Now that would be one talented camera. Nope, only SD. But FWIW, it is very nice quality 16:9 SD.

HDV to tape
Hey Marius,
If you want to record HD720 24p to tape, you need to look at the JVC ProHD series cameras. I guess Panasonic like the idea of you spending a grand and a half on P2 cards too much to want you to be able shoot HDV to tape. Rob Adams |

Note that the HVX200 does not record HDV at all. DV to tape. DVCPro SD and DVCProHD to P2 card.

Also Note the major difference between HDV and HD100: HDV records long GOP at appx 25mbs on DVtape while Panasonic records HD100 at 100mbs onto P2 cards.
