HPX500 camera plate advice
I'm trying to convince the production company I work for to purchase an HPX500. I'm trying to cut costs where I can. I notice the quick-release camera plate for Panasonic shoulder-mount cameras (SHAN-TM700) looks a heck of a lot like the plates for Sony and JVC cameras. In fact, I have both Sony and JVC cameras and they can use each other's plates with no problems.
Has anyone tried a Sony or JVC camera on a Panny plate, or vice-verse? I'm trying to save $430 here. |

I am *pretty sure* (not 100%) that I put my 500 on my friend's Sony plate once.... once.

Yeah, I really hate to miss out on that $2,000 rebate for the 500. I had the price of the 500 to within $1,700 of the 200a, and I still couldn't persuade the bean counters. That's a heckuva lot more camera for that price difference.

I've got an HPX500 here at the moment and it does fit the Sony plate, just in case anyone else is wondering.
Can't stand the QR plates personally, they're so wobbly! Steve |
