Is my new HVX broken?
I just got an HVX and I was testing it. I noticed some weird black dots and lines near the high contrast areas. Am I doing something wrong or is there a problem with my HVX? Here's a link to a cropped still:

It would help to know what format/codec this was shot in: DV/DV25/50/100? Did you record directly to P2, tape or Firestore? Before we can offer suggestions on what the problem might be or whether it's the camera at all we first need to do some simple process-of-elimination steps.

I don't have the camera on hand so I don't remember the codec. I know I tried it with 1080/60, 1080/24, 720/60, 720/24. All format did the same thing. It was recorded directed onto P2 and bought into FCP 5.0.4.
I'll update when I get my hands on the camera again. |
