HVX and Tape
Hi all,
I asked this question at the end of a post with a differnet topic, and figure it is buried so I am posting as a separate topic..(also I have to make some decisions on a rapidly approaching shoot. Have not worked with the HVX 200.. Looking for some verification of info on it.... from what I read and remember about the camera it will record HD (DVCPRO HD 60p) to the P2 card and to a Firestore drive, but not HD to a tape ?? Is this correct?? and if this is so, I will be using it with a Firestore drive.. Can I record to the Firestore and to tape at the same time?? And if this is possible, and I am recording the HD to the Firestore, what will I have on tape?? 16:9 DV ??? Any responses greatly appreciated... Thnk You !! |

Yes - HVX200 will only record SD signals to DV tape. If you want HD, you have to use either P2 or Firestore. What ever HD signals that is recorded to Firestore will be downgraded to SD to record on tape.
I don't know if the camera will allow recording of Firestore and tape simultaneously - somebody else can answer that for you. |
