Has anyone here done the 4-channel audio mod to their HVX?
Hi all. . .
Someone here pointed me to a four-channel audio mod on the HVX that was discussed over on DVXuser. I find that possibility totally intriguing and wonder if anyone here has any experience with it. I mean, how could would it be to be able to record FOUR channels of external mics at the same time all within the camera? Outside of voiding the warranty (mine has now lapsed), is anyone aware of any problems coming from this mod??? I'm wanting to do it to my camera, but not if it leads to more problems than it's worth. Or if it doesn't work at all. Thanks much. Stephen |

I would think you would be better off using an external mixer if you need that many mics. When you have external mics selected, you can't control Ch 3 & 4 levels anyway.

I guess the idea is to have stereo mic + one or two wireless...

Yeah, the idea is to be able to run a mixer into the HVX AND be able to use the two native XLRs in order to have as many as, say, six mics and/or wireless combinations. A mixer will yield many mics, but only two tracks. I'd rather have four independent tracks. Stephen |
