Upgrade Software Key is on backorder? at DVinfo.net

Okay, now not sure whether to post to this thread, or to start a new thread in S / G / GF / GH / GX

Anyway, I got enthused about the S1 and have one on order from B&H, and it will arrive in a few days. BUT the Upgrade Software Key is on backorder. Does anyone know when Panasonic expects to "ship" this? It's pretty essential for video.

And I found an answer to my question, sort of. My order from B&H included the Upgrade Software Key packaged with the camera, and then it showed up as a backorder. But I now see they also list this Key separately, as a standalone item, with expected availability at the end of July. So hopefully they'll fill all the orders then.

Several useful features are unlocked with the key. I shoot mostly HDR where a waveform monitor is essential. Plus V-Log / V Gamut is unlocked.
