I was seriously considering moving up to the BlackMagic Ursa Mini Pro to get a "better" camera - until I saw this guys video and color-kit for the GH5/s.
No need to purchase V-LOG from Panny. And it looks better anyway:
I've been using his custom settings and the GH5/s LUT he created for two months now. 100% recommended.
In fact, I don't even apply the LUT in my NLE (Davinci), I use EditReady and apply the LUT during transcode into ProRes. Now all my footage is fully ready for the timeline and if I've nailed exposure properly in-camera often needs *zero* correction in post. Unless I want to accent/draw-down certain scenes.
This is probably the single-most logical and cost-effective filmmaking tool I've purchased in years. Aside from the GH5 itself.
I'm not getting a "better" camera, I'm getting two more GH5s's instead. All because Joo got this figured out. Amazing stuff.
