GH4 - Photo File Size - "Set Button"
Greetings -- so I have GH4 - and when I choose photo size (RAW + jpeg / Just jpeg, etc) and hit the "set" button and take some photos - then turn camera "off" - and then back on -- my previous settings are not "saved" as I had set them. They have to be reset all over again. Pretty frustrating ! What am I doing wrong - or is this "default" process of changing settings when camera turned off - "unstoppable ?"
Thanks for replies --

Re: GH4 - Photo File Size - "Set Button"
It may be that settings have been saved to the particular program you are using. I have a bunch of different settings saved for video on the manual movie mode, C 1,2 & 3 mode for video. Unless i save a setting i have modified, it will always revert to the settings i saved previously. I don't have the camera at hand, but would imagine this might be the case with all the photo modes as well??
Try looking up the custom settings in the manual & see if that sets you in the right direction.

Re: GH4 - Photo File Size - "Set Button"
I you have it in one of the modes such as A, M, P, etc and select the still image quality it should stay the same until you change it again. I think it is like Bryce says. I you previously had it set on a certain quality (example jpg)and then saved that under one of the custom settings and then you changed the setting to raw
while you were still in that custom setting, it will revert to the jpg if you go to another mode and come back to the custom setting or power down and start with the custom setting. An example would be that you have saved a group of settings to C1 and your still image quality is jpg. If you change to raw you would need to save that setting to C1 again to overwrite the previous setting or it will revert to jpeg.--at least that is how my GH4 works. |
