Ef to Mft, speedboosters etc... need help

Ho,

i am getting a new camera and for the forst time I will ne dealing with a Mft. I own many EF lenses and want to use them but I am new to all this sperdboosting. Need some help.

An adapter by itself is just to hold the EF lens in place. As EF is made for dull frame it will eork with no vignetting and there will be a crop factor. I get it. I oen Canon lenses with no mechanical iios control so a simple adapter will not work. I need either electonics to speak with the lens or one with an extra iris on it. i've been told that many have problems in speaking with canon lenses, could mess stabilization, could have bugs. On the other side adapters with iris mean I need to have my lenses fixed open and rely on the adapter for bokeh and also some might vignette.
Finally some adapters are speedboosters. Have a glass insode, concentrate light so I will have no cropping and an extra stop but they tell me the camera eill be very sensible to lens flares and image (with an extra glass) eill become softer.

So. What do I get?!?!
Along with Metabones... what other brands deliver good quality?
I would like to get ONE and almost never remove it from the camera.

Any help is welcome
Thanks

Are you talking about the LS300? Remember it's an MFT mount but an APS sensor.

Metabones only recommend one model Speedbooster with the JVC.
Aputure's products won't fit on the LS300.

I'll go out on a limb and say that all the other Speedboosters are probably optically inferior. I've seen many examples of awful bokeh and strange optical problems.

Re: Ef to Mft, speedboosters etc... need help

I have a "Metabones Smart Adapter" which connects my Sigma, EF Mount, to my Lumix GH4s.

Seems perfect, all the GH4 functions such as electronic aperture control and readout, image stabilisation. Not tried auto focus 'cos I don't do autofocus but it supposedly works.

I also have a Metabones adapter for Nikon to MFT. Not "smart", they don't do one in Nikon so lens aperture adjustment is mechanical and no IS or lens data readout.

Don't know about "Speedbooster" because I have no need.

I've seen the Metabones in action and seems to insert huge flares even if you are not direct into light.
I am use to 1,5x cropping (with my BMPC) and I think I'll go on that way. I'll take an electronic adapter but no glass inside (=speedbooster)

A decent Speedbooster will improve lens resolving power. No way it should make an image softer unless it's faulty.

Problems with flares and internal reflections aren't widely reported anymore are they? More than likely it's down to a certain combination of lens and adaptor.
