GH4 Firmware 2.2 Now Available.
[Anamorphic(4:3)] mode is available which optimizes the settings for 3328x2496 video recording with a 4:3 anamorphic lens.
* To convert the footage to a cinemascope aspect for playback, corresponding software and device are required. 1/16000 sec shutter speed can be selected manually when using [Electronic Shutter]. Fixed the issue which video recorded in rec format AVCHD got misdated when imported to some editing software. Re: GH4 Firmware 2.2 Now Available.
I tried using that firmware page for a Mac download. I am able to download the file which presents itself not as a folder, but as a AH4__V22.bin file. When one clicks on that icon, it opens up a new icon titled AH4__V22.bin.cpgz
When one opens that, it opens a second version of the original file, now titled AH4__V22 2.bin. and it just continues to go round and round.

Re: GH4 Firmware 2.2 Now Available.
Oops, I meant GH4, not AH4.
The icon that downloads is titled GH4__V22.bin The icon is a zipped icon. Opening that up that icon via double clicking on it using Mac's OSX creates a new icon titled GH4__V22.bin.cpgz When one double clicks on that, it opens up a copy of the first icon, now titled GH4__V22 2.bin. Double clicking on that icon creates a copy of the .cpgz icon, now titled GH4__V22 2.bin.cpgz, so it keeps going round and round. Same for using Mac's Safari or Firefox when it comes to what it downloads.

You don't open the .bin file, you copy it to the SD card.

Re: GH4 Firmware 2.2 Now Available.
Gary... Ok, I loaded the .bin file onto the SD card. Which folder is the root folder to add the .bin file is not on it's face clear. It made no difference when I just left it out of the existing folders.
I also then found this which was a bit more Mac friendly: Panasonic GH4 firmware update tutorial It seemed to coincide with this Youtube visual firmware tutorial when not using the camera base; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvOkwLpoBUY#t=340 However the camera did not turn itself off then back on automatically as claimed in the Panny tutorial page, but none the less it worked and updated the body firmware to 2.2. You long time Windows/PC users always impress me as the Windows OS is often buggy and not intuitive, so your problem solving skillset is more robust than many of us Mac users. Thanks for the help guys.

Gary, I got a kick out of your video. It was a more clever, more sophisticated version of "Google is your friend". I don't mind humorous sarcasm at my expense WHEN IT'S GOOD, and yours certainly got me laughing. Well done my friend :)
Earlier today I actually did Google; "What does the root folder look like on an SD card" but got distracted quick. I did notice the camera seems to autofocus ever so slightly better now too.

Not so sure about it alleviating my issues, but at least it seems to be helping the camera! lol. ;)
