GH3 Firmware Update
Anyone done the GH3 FW update yet (http://panasonic.jp/support/global/c.../dl/gh3.html)? Anything we should know before proceeding?

Re: GH3 Firmware Update
It's all good. Doesn't have everything being wished for, but no concerns.
Good luck

Re: GH3 Firmware Update
Version 1.2
1. "Low Light AF" is added that makes it possible to set focus on the subject in low-lit situations (-3EV). 2. "Silent Mode" is added which suppresses electronic shutter, shutter sound, operation sound and flash emission with a single setting. 3. "Exposure Comp. Reset" is added which resets the setting of exposure compensation to ±0 whenever the camera is turned off or the shooting mode is changed. 4. Performance of AF is enhanced in use with H-PS14042 and H-PS45175. 5. Connection problem with Apple Mac computers via Wi-Fi is fixed. A big MEH. Nothing that interests me. |

Re: GH3 Firmware Update
Agree. I probably won't bother with this update.
Clearly, the most important thing they need to fix is the disappearance of the audio meters from the LCD after a few seconds of shooting. After that, they need to give purchasers of their $1000+ flagship camera the $750 G6's focus peaking capability (The G6's NFC would be nice too - but that probably requires a chip). Come on, Panasonic. Bill Hybrid Camera Revolution |
