Do I really need the Beachtek pro??
Yep it has VU levels displayed and proper headphone monitoring and other nice bits, but do I really want to spend $400+ ?
I have a NTG 2 and Sony rads and want to make 100% sure that the recording is happening. I think I need it. |

Re: Do I really need the Beachtek pro??
I love mine. There are cheaper units but this one is built like a tank and lasts a VERY long time on one 500maH 9V rechargeable battery even with phantom on.
Buy it and never look back. And know you won't have to upgrade later!

The cheapest option is Art dual Pre.
OK I know it's a crap review. But I am less than an amateur. Haha. |

Here's a recent review we did of the Beachtek with a few examples of it's sound. Hope it helps :)
(Click "CC" for English Subtitles) We'll also be doing a review of the similar JuicedLink RA222 in the next couple of weeks. |

Can you work on camcorders with no XLR's?

The unit is designed for units with no XLRs. So yes, it works with no XLRs.
