Re: 7.5mm Samyang f3.5
Don, I got out my lens to put it up for sale, and my Rokinon and it's 8mm instead of 7.5mm like yours.
How weird is that? Anyway, anyone looking or interested I put mine up for sale in the classifieds here, along with an adapter for the GH2 included, for $225. |

Re: 7.5mm Samyang f3.5
I'd think it would go fast Jeff. It certainly isn't a walking around lens, but I've found it extremely useful.
Just a heads up for those that bought or have a jib/crane....this lens is a showstopper on them. |

Re: 7.5mm Samyang f3.5
I don't like the race Jeff. They tie up traffic and bring in crime. I just video the people. Last year I got a fellow passing fake hundred dollar bills.
I wouldn't even be here except I had another event to video this morning. Those are frame grabs from video BTW.. |

Re: 7.5mm Samyang f3.5
For profit Jeff.
One of the reasons (Other than bandwidth) I don't put anything but test and occasionally insulting political things, online is because I try to shoot for a captive audience. I contract for X number of DVD's from a client. In the case of the races, one of the sponsors. They have to purchase a minimum number of copies. I do some news items, almost always an event, demonstration or something that I'm pretty sure will turn violent, and use it for broll or combined for another DVD or for the news syndicate my company has. I'm the lobbyist for a rural affairs organization and video legislative goings on because I've found it's a very effective reminder of what the legislators said. They have convenient memories. I'm a cranky old goat that would rather stay on my farm taking pictures of my bears unless someone pays me. Yesterday I shot a picnic that was really a pre legislative session.get together for the largest gun lobby in the state. Eventually I'll put that with other events and sell the DVD's. I've found it's all about playing to a target audience. Yesterdays shoot was a long 15 hour day and I used the new AC 160 (Which I love) and two GH2's, one with the 7.5 for unusual shots. It works really well for that. Notice I said unusual rather than artistic. There isn't an artistic bone in my body... Frame grab: |
