Quick Lens Test at DVinfo.net

This is the first decent day we've had in two weeks and I didn't have enough time for real tests....but I wanted to get an idea what the GH2 was going to do with Canon Lenses and an adapter.

I had a problem though. It is too bright for the fast lenses so I went to the back side of the wood pile.

Then I went to the sunny side and used an ND filter. I can't reach the focus wheel on the Canon 1.8 with my 77mm ND filter. I'll figure some sort of whip.

I did the same thing with my Canon lenses when I got them. I went outside and shot all kind of stuff. The video quality amazed me at the time, I was in awe. My favorite video of that time was a thing I shot of a squirrel, the detail in his tail just blew me away.

In a pinch, you can always hike up your shutter speed if you find yourself ND-less... motion gets choppy, but you can get the image and test your glass. Stopping down is naturally an option, as well... most all lenses get even sharper in the 4-5.6 range.

As to your focus whip, might I suggest either a large zip-tie, or these:

I still love shooting around and playing with lenses - when time allows, which isn't often so far this year. FD's are a great inexpensive option if you like working full-manual.

Just noticed you're relatively new to GH2 and relatively close... happy to help whenever you've got questions on the wee m43 beastie.

I hate to admit that I did hike the shutter a tad Kevin. I think I shot that at 60. I could have gone higher but it was already looking fluttery.

I should have moved to 720 60 and kicked the shutter higher, I just had an urge to see it in 1080.

I use the jar lid openers on other cameras and lenses but the fifty was designed to be annoying. It's thin and angles down to the end of the lens. There isn't enough room to fit between the oversize filter and the ridge at the back of the ring. Without the filter, it just slides off.

A zip tie may work especially with a spot of hot glue.

I was through your neighborhood yesterday on the way to Bridgewater. I was born on the other side of the mountain.
