Memory card stuck in GH1...
I've managed to lodge an SD card in my GH1.
The write protect switch had fallen off the card and I put it in the camera to check the status of the card. It now won't fully come of out the body. I can push it in and it pops out a few millimeters as usual. It comes another few millimeters and then gets stuck. No amount of gentle waddling it about has dislodged it so far. Does anyone have any advice on resolving this? Failing that a guide to disassembling a GH1 would be awesome. |

Re: Memory card stuck in GH1...
Hi Richard
I've heard of using a thin stiff piece of plastic like they use to package things. Cut it in the shape of the SD card and gently slide it in the slot. You should then be able to pull the card out. Good Luck. Gordon |

Richard, before you choose to disassemble your camera,
please consider sending it to an authorized Panasonic factory repair service center! Even if you manage to remove that card, you'll probably want to have your camera checked out by a qualified technician anyway -- who is to say that it won't happen again, even with another brand of card? |

Unfortunately that hasn't solved the problem either. I'll give it another try tomorrow morning. If I can't get it sorted it's off to the local repair place with her. |

Re: Memory card stuck in GH1...
Luckily I finally managed to extract it safely this morning using an sd card shaped bit of thin plastic and a safety pin.
Apparently there's a known design flaw that causes this to happen with Panasonic sd card slots when the write protect tab is missing. |
