officially ordered the gh2

Just ordered the gh2 after researching various dslr type cameras, and also various camcorders too. With video being my primary it seemed to be a good fit.

Re: officially ordered the gh2

thanks. A friend has the 60d so I plan to do some comparisons with the two for those who may be deciding between a canon and a panasonic. Ive always had canons but wanted to try a panasonic.

Both are fine cameras and i think ill be happy with my choice.

Instead of starting a new thread I will ask here. I have vegas 10(havent had long), in what situations will I also need a program like cineform etc? Im new to the format.

thanks

Re: officially ordered the gh2

If you have a fast processor you shouldn't need anything else. If you shoot 1080 and will be downconverting you might want another program for resizing. If you shoot in 720p and will be downconverting to SD 16:9 you can render straight to mpeg with great results.

It all depends.

Make sure you do some comparison shots of tile roofs, brick walls, rippling water and waves, small tree leaves blowing in the wind, seersucker suits and small checkered patter shirts and dresses and then you be happy with your choice of cameras. You will then see that Mr. Moire is not Mr. Canon's friend.

No need to pile on. The roof in this video pretty much says it all.
