Camera won't upload anything to computer
Okay, out of the blue my camera won't upload anything to my computer. On connection via USB PHOTOfunSTUDIO opens and I get a warning that says, "Cannot find supported DCIM-format still pictures or AVCHD content". It's not the software, either, because when I browse the files in Explorer none of the video I've taken is there. However, the video is on the camera, because I can go into play mode and watch them. What's going on?!
*edit, okay this is weird, I found the footage in Explorer. It's in PRIVATE>AVCHD>BDMV>STREAM That makes no sense, it used to show up in DCIM Anyone know what happened? |

Can't you use a card reader? If your video is AVCHD I don't believe you can download those files via usb, but I might be wrong.
At any rate if they are on the card, a card reader should work until you figure out what is going on.

Jeff, I don't have a card reader. Up until now I've been using the supplied usb cable to upload my video with no problems.

Bummer. But no need to panic. If you can't figure this out, go buy a card reader, they are REALLY inexpensive, under $20, I eleive.
Wish I could be of more help, but I don't even have my camera yet, so I can't test. Have you checked the manual? Got page 164, 165, it mentions USB connection, but says something about "For other than AVCHD". If you've done it before, that is a mystery.

Motion jpeg footage is stored in the DCIM folder.

Thread title changed from "Help!!" to "Camera won't upload anything to computer."
Please avoid ambiguous thread titles. Card reader is definitely the way to go... |
