Re: XLR adapters and SOUND recording options for GH series
Jim, I own the CX231 it is powered by a 9 volt battery, I believe. The unit I have does allow for either phantom or non-phantom powered mics, there is a setting for it.
Unit seems to be ok, I never liked it's industrial type of construction, it's ugly and crude, but is pretty quiet.

Re: XLR adapters and SOUND recording options for GH series
Jim, if you're interested in mine, I will send it to you to try out, and if you like it you can pay me via paypal ($100+ shipping) It's just sitting here collecting dust. It needs the cable that runs from the unit to the camera, and I don't have the cable. Last time I used the unit, one side did not put out audio, and it might have been because I was using the wrong kind of cable. I don't use XLR microphones any more, haven't for awhile. Probably used the unit three times.

Re: XLR adapters and SOUND recording options for GH series
Thanks Jeff. I will think on it. Right now I am only going to use the GH2 as a second lock down camera but that could change.
