GH1 Australian price drop
Looks like Panasonic Australia have finally lowered the pricing of the GH1 to bring it more in line with world prices. They've dropped the rrp to $1999 (down from $2599) and some stores are selling the kit for around $1800 (down from $2400 on average).
So now after currency conversion we are only paying about 20% more than customers in the US, rather than about 90% more. It's now almost on par with the 550d price wise, especially if you buy body only for $1300 at Camera House. Makes me kinda regret buying mine two months ago! |

Yeah, bought mine last weekend after sitting on the idea of purchasing it for ages, saw the price drop and went for it. I got the body only at Camera-Action Camera House in Melbourne city and got it for $1200. Was pretty happy, and considering I already had a set of Zeiss primes and had already gotten an adapter for them for the GH1 a couple months back, figured I could live without the kit lens. With the hack installed this camera has been incredible so far. I'm absolutely loving it! Shooting a commercial with it this week, so will see how it goes in a 'real world' scenario.
