Our first film with the GH1
My wife and I recently started a wedding videography business. After renting cameras for a few years, we purchased two GH1's a few months ago. Now that wedding season is again upon us, we had our first opportunity to try them out.
Everything was filmed in "Smooth" mode and with the 1.7 pancake lens. About 75% of the shots are from the Steadicam Merlin (often braced against my shoulder rather than "flying"). As the video will show, we had some user-errors which we're learning from. (The camera was auto-white balancing at one point while filming.) Before next time we're going to work on manual focusing and setting exposure better. Kevin |

Hi Kevin -
I really like this - especially the coloring and post work you have done... Nice job! |

Thanks Jay! I had to spend quite a while on the colour grading because we haven't found optimal settings for skin tones on the GH1 yet. Grading was done in Color. We are going to be tweaking the My Film settings and color adjustments on the White Balance menu this month, in preparation for next months' weddings.
So far, for incandescent lighting I'm happiest with settings moving towards blue with a hint of green. |
