mike, how do you rate the GH1?
i've been following your blog recently and you have produced some excellent video pieces with various of the new video DSLRs, Nikon d90, canon 5d mk2 and the GH1 among others. i realise they offer slightly different performance for your money, whether it be in image quality, practicality of use, ease of editing etc. of course, the canon 7d adds another to the mix. i'm intersted in your opinion as to how the GH1 stands up against the others as far as being able to get good quality 720p video in various situations, low light, tripod, run and gun (maybe not your thing!) etc have you had any of the known problems of mud, streaking etc? what about grading? how do you feel the footage handles being graded? i ask you as i really like what you produce with these DSLRs and you obviously know what you're doing! i was thinking of getting a GH1 (or 7d but maybe it's a wee bit expensive for me) for general creative filming, music videos, small reports (like you did with the german designer), creative shorts and weddings (i need the money!) and have been trying to get opinions from people whose work i admire. any thoughts would be most appreciated! |

Mike you've got some good information in the micro four thirds forum on dpreview. You've really shot with this camera in the rain? Congrats on the cover photo also.
