NeoScene pulldown acceptable for 1080p24?
Just wanted to figure something out - pulldown for 1080p24 is the same for the GH1 as it is for the Canon HG20/HF10 line, right? Run it through NeoScene and be done with it?

It's been working for me.... For some strange reason AE lists the result as 29.97 in the project window but if I drop it into a 1920x1080 23.976 comp it's el perfecto.

I have also been using Neo Scene with some raw GH1 files someone posted online. It removes pulldown perfectly and then I can edit in Vegas without any hassle (also realtime playback and preview work better than when I try to edit the raw AVCHD files).
It also works great for converting 720 60p to 720 24p, it simply drops the extra frames but it looks great to me. Vegas can do this conversion well also (blends frames by default, but can be set to drop frames by setting the clip properties to "disable resample") but the patch processing and having Cineform codec in the resulting files gives you a faster editing ability. |
