You have the choice between 1080p25 and 720p50.
Isn't that enough ? |

I just want to combine the material from the GH1 with my other footage in 50i, shot with HV20.
So from other posts I read that there is no 1080i60, so I assume there will be no 1080i50 neither!?? |

Rob, what is it that you want to achieve? Do you simply want to mix footage shot with an hv20 PAL model with footage from a PAL model GH1, if so then this shouldn't be a problem. Or are asking if the footage will match up/look the same?

i'm pretty sure it does true interlaced
otherwise your 50p will needed to be converted to 50i which shouldn't be a problem |

I've downloaded a m2ts from a PAL gh1 and it is 1080 25p not 50i, this is, 25 progressive frames, not 50 interlaced
said that, this is the only pal m2ts I've found so.. lets see |

I just hope that I will be able to combine both streams into a (AVID) timeline and in case I have to convert into 50i I will not loose to much image quality. |

Rob
Why don't you try downloading a 25p clip from somewhere and trying it with your hv20 shots? I think the footage on dpreview was 25p? Anyway if you put it in your Avid timeline and see how it plays out. I would imagine that the GH1 is not going to look that great if you try to re-interlace, but I don't know. |

Yes, I'll try that, thanks. Or maybe better wait for the release of the camera when all specs are cleared out. The sources at this moment are still conflictive.
